The surgery is the best place to have a consultation as there are better facilities to examine you and to arrange any necessary urgent tests. Therefore we request that you visit the surgery if at all possible. Home visits will be made if a patient's medical condition prevents them from leaving home. They will not be made for social or domestic reasons, nor for lack of transport.
If you feel a home visit is essential please telephone before 12:00 as this enables the doctors to plan the visits according to the urgency of each problem.
For home visits the practice cannot guarantee a specific doctor.
Each visit request will be triaged by a doctor and a Primary Care practice based Paramedic will visit you or a doctor when required.
You can also be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.
